Meant To Be A Joke
A weather report on the French TV channel TF1 recently went viral after they made a spoof report on what the weather would be like in 2050. Across the board in France, the report claimed temperatures would be above 100 F as a warning of the effects of climate change. As it turned out, the fictional report actually came true, but it happened much sooner than expected.
The report was created in 2014 and gave a prediction for how France would look in the distant future. Instead, the people in France only had to wait five years and this fake weather report would actually come true.

Even Hotter
The scary thing about the weather report comparisons from this year and the fake one in 2014 was that it wasn’t even the hottest days of the year that was being compared. Temperatures soared even higher in the summer due to a heatwave across France, where reports claimed people lost their lives due to how warm it was. All over Europe temperature records were being smashed as the continent faced one of the hottest summers in history.
In the UK, the ten hottest years ever recorded have all come since the turn of the century and it seems the planet just continues to get hotter each year. Scientists understand that our climate is warming faster and more consistently than in the past 2,000 years.
