Although quintessential 90s network The WB was more famous for shows such as Dawson’s Creek and Felicity, it also aired 7th Heaven from 1996 to 2007.
Jessica Biel – Mary Camden
Without a shadow of a doubt, the most famous celebrity to have come out of 7th Heaven is the wonderful Jessica Biel. Portraying Mary, the eldest daughter of Eric and Annie started off a young athlete at school and loves basketball.
Jessica Biel – Now
Jessica Biel’s career has skyrocketed since her days on the show came to an end. With roles in movies such as Blade: Trinity, I Know Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and even producing The Book of Love, Biel has maintained a steady run in the world of film. Her personal life has also been eventful, after marrying singer Justin Timberlake in 2012 and having a child together three years later. She was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the crime drama series The Sinner.
Ashlee Simpson – Cecilia Smith
The sister of Jessica Simpson had a notable role on the show for a couple of seasons. Ashlee Simpson played the role of Cecilia Smith, who was Simon’s girlfriend for a brief period. She kind of got accepted into the family after Simon enrolled in college. For a while, Cecilia was involved in more family matters before finally breaking up with Simon. Before 7th Heaven, she had appeared on one episode of Malcolm in the Middle.
Ashlee Simpson – Now
Although she was only on the show for two seasons, Ashlee Simpson has still managed to find work elsewhere. For a year, she had her own reality show, The Ashlee Simpson Show, which explore various areas of her personal life, such the relationship with her sister Jessica, as well as the recording of her debut album, Autobiography. The album reached number one in the Billboard charts, and her sophomore album I Am Me also achieved the same success.
The Brino Brothers – Sam & David
Amazingly, even though the twins Sam and David Camden were two characters in the show, it took all four of the Brino quadruplets to play them at different times of the show’s run. For three years, the four boys shared the two roles. However, once the brothers started to look different with age, it was only Lorenzo and Nikolas who made the roles their own when they were three years of age. They were named after the musical duo Sam & Dave.
The Brino Brothers – Now
Even after the show came to an end, the Brino boys were able to find work elsewhere. Most notably though, it was Zachary Brino that would end up working once again with one of his on-screen siblings. When ABC’s sitcom What About Brian? was air, Zachary was cast as Bobby, meaning that he got the chance to work once again with Barry Watson, who played Matt Camden, Sam and David’s older brother. However, after just two seasons, the show was canceled.
Geoff Stults – Ben Kinkirk
The Kinkirks are an interesting family within the 7th Heaven universe. Both Geoff Stults and his older brother George played the on-screen brothers Ben and Kevin respectively. Ben develops a crush on Mary Camden while she is considering getting married to Wilson. However, Stults had already worked on many TV shows before he made his first appearance on the Camden family show. He also had roles in shows such as Everybody Loves Raymond, Spin City, and Undressed.
Geoff Stults – Now
There is no doubt that Stults is one of the more recognizable actors to have come out of 7th Heaven. George’s brother has gone on to become much more successful than him. As far as TV is concerned, Stults has worked on shows such as October Road, The Finder, and Enlisted. He recently a recurring role on the short-lived, Matthew Perry-led sitcom The Odd Couple. Stults has also made appearances in some big Hollywood movies such as Wedding Crashers and J.Edgar.
Rachel Blanchard – Roxanne Richardson
Rachel Blanchard played Kevin Kinkirk’s girlfriend, Roxanne Richardson, who appeared on the show between 2002 and 2004. She was basically used as a reason for Lucy Camden to get jealous of Kevin. However, the two ladies end up becoming friends as the show goes on. Roxanne eventually reveals that she is leaving for Iraq. Blanchard had been in so much prior to being cast on the show. She starred in shows such as War of the Worlds, Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Chris Cross.
Rachel Blanchard – Now
During her time on 7th Heaven, Blanchard starred in the hilarious comedy Road Trip, which also starred Tom Green and Sean William Scott. After her time on the show came to an end, she crossed over to British TV and had a recurring role on the sitcom Peep Show. She also appeared on crazy movies such as Without a Paddle and the Samuel L. Jackson-led Snakes on a Plane. She currently has a main role on show You Me Her.
Tyler Hoechlin – Martin Brewer
Without a shadow of a doubt, the character with the most tragic backstory on 7th Heaven has to be Martin Brewer. Played by Tyler Hoechlin, this young man, who made his debut in the eighth season and stayed on the show until the end of its run, lost his mother at a young age and had a father who was deployed to Iraq. As a result, the Camdens, who were already a huge family, took in Martin as their own until he was able to live independently.
Tyler Hoechlin – Now
Hoechlin’s career has seen no sign of coming to a standstill since 7th Heaven finished its run. With roles in movies such as Everybody Wants Some!! and Fifty Shades Freed under his belt, Hoechlin is certainly on his way to becoming a true Hollywood star. He has also maintained a healthy run in the world of TV, starring in shows such as MTV’s Teen Wolf, which won him the award for Male Scene Stealer at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. Hoechlin also portrayed Superman himself, Clark Kent in CW’s Supergirl.
Haylie Duff – Sandy Jameson
Starring in the last two seasons of the show, Haylie Duff played the role of Sandy Jameson, the friend of Simon’s fiance Rose. She drops a huge bombshell in her first appearance, claiming that she might be pregnant. Eventually, Sandy has a baby boy and it is rumored that the dad is actually Simon. Although it is unclear whether she has a happy ending, it is revealed in season 11 that she meets a doctor by the name of Jonathan, who asks for her hand in marriage.
Haylie Duff – Now
Not only is Hilary Duff’s sister a relatively successful actress; she also tried her luck in the music industry. In 2008, she released her only single, “Our Lips Are Sealed,” which featured her more famous sister Hilary. The single reached the Top 10 in Australia and Canada. She also featured on rapper Kool G Rap’s song “On The Rise Again.” Duff has starred in movies such as Napoleon Dynamite and has been the host of shows such as Real Girl’s Kitchen and Haylie’s America.
Jeremy London – Chandler Hampton
Chandler Hampton (Jeremy London) is the minister who fills in for Eric Camden while he is away having his heart bypass and recovering. He is later asked to stay on as an associate to assist Eric in his busy schedule. Eric meets Chandler’s twin brother in one episode and mistakes him for Chandler. He becomes friends with Roxanne Richardson (Rachel Blanchard)
Jeremy London – Now
Unfortunately, London’s career following his role as Chandler Hampton was overshadowed by a dark chapter in his life. The actor was reportedly kidnapped in 2010 for a brief period before escaping and alerting the authorities. He also checked into the fourth season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew after seeking treatment for an addiction. Since then, London has starred in shows such as the remake of MacGyver. He is also a scheduled to reprise his role of T.S. Quint for the sequel to Mallrats.
George Stults – Kevin Kinkirk
Originally considered for the role of Simon Camden, George Stults would have to settle for portraying the older Kinkirk brother, Kevin. The character, who happened to be a police officer ended up tying the knot with Lucy Camden. After some drama together, Lucy reveals to Kevin in the finale that she is pregnant. George Stults had already established himself a respectable actor before winning the role of Kevin. He also made appearances in sitcoms such as Will & Grace and Friends.
George Stults – Now
Geoff Stults’s brother George has had a fairly modest career since his time on 7th Heaven came to an end. His most notable role came in 2015 when he made a guest appearance on an episode of Melissa & Joey. Strangely though, Stults seems to end up on a lot of holiday-themed movies. With roles in flicks such as Christmas With The Andersons and I’m Not Ready For Christmas, George sure does love to get merry. He also starred in the independent thriller Necrosis.
Stephen Collins – Eric Camden
Stephen Collins was one of the more experienced cast members, having originally starred in The Waltons. This patriarchal figure was a reverend on the show, but has he lived up to his God-fearing character?
Stephen Collins – Now
It turns out that this unassuming head of the Camden family was actually in some legal trouble in real life. In 2014, his career came to an absolute standstill. This is because of an interview he had with People magazine, where he admitted to having acted inappropriately with minors on numerous occasions. Before his career shattering moment, Collins had worked on numerous projects after his time on 7th Heaven came to an end. These included roles on shows such as Scandal and Falling Skies.
Catherine Hicks – Annie Camden
It was Catherine Hicks who portrayed the wife of Eric Camden – Annie. She was the mother of Matt, Mary, Lucy, Simon, Ruthie, Sam, and David – a HUGE family to say the very least. Most importantly though, this stay-at-home mother was the backbone of the family. Like Collins, Hicks was a mainstay throughout the show’s entire run. She was praised for her role and in 2009, was included in Yahoo!’s Top 10 TV Moms from Six Decades of Television from 1996-2007.
Catherine Hicks – Now
Unlike Collins, Catherine Hicks has had no reason to stop working since her time on 7th Heaven came to an end. Originally having a part in the classic horror movie Child’s Play, she reprised her role as Karen Barclay in 2013’s Curse of Chucky, albeit in a photograph. However, it’s not just acting that Hicks has been significantly involved with. She has also volunteered in Adam Schiff’s campaign office for the California Congress. She has appeared in holiday flicks like A Christmas Wedding Date.
Barry Watson – Matt Camden
It wasn’t just 7th Heaven that Barry Watson was heavily involved with while he portrayed Annie and Eric’s firstborn Matt Camden. He starred alongside Katie Holmes in 1999’s Teaching Mrs. Tingle. Three years later, he had an integral role in the comedy Sorority Boys. As for his character on the show, Watson’s Matt Camden was a typical sitcom underdog who would often sacrifice his own commitments to help the ones he cared about. What is the actor up to nowadays?
Barry Watson – Now
The show coming to an end didn’t spell doom for Watson’s acting career by any means. Another show that came calling after 7th Heaven was ABC’s What About Brian? Watson also had a role in the critically acclaimed Samantha Who? However, Watson’s career has been overshadowed by his fight with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After overcoming the illness, he was proud to announce that he had tied the knot with his partner Natasha Gregson Wagner. They also had their first child.
Christopher Michael – Chief Michaels
All actors want that role that they can read in the script and say “this role was made for me!” We firmly believe that this is what Christopher Michael said when he read his role as Chief of Police Michaels, for the very first time. Although he wasn’t one of the main characters on 7th Heaven, Michael was pretty much on the show for the entirety of its run. Thankfully, his character did not change too much.
Christopher Michael – Now
It seems like “police officer” is the typical role that Christopher Michael has built a lot of his career around. Even before his role on 7th Heaven, Michael worked as an officer on shows such as Family Matters and even had a role in the Jim Carrey-led comedy The Cable Guy! However, the officer roles just kept on coming, with Michael starring as Officer Carl in iCarly, as well as an episode of the show Castle. He also appeared on Netflix’s GLOW.
Adam LaVorgna – Robbie Palmer
Although he eventually managed to be part of the main cast, Adam LaVorgna started off on 7th Heaven as a recurring character. He played the likeable Robbie Palmer, the love interest of Jessica Beal’s character Mary Camden. In fact, the couple had an extremely on and off relationship between 1999 and 2002. However, this wasn’t the first that people had seen of LaVorgna. Before his role as Robbie Palmer, the young actor played a young Sinatra in a hit miniseries.
Adam LaVorgna – Now
Despite his time on 7th Heaven coming to an end, Adam LaVorgna continued to find work elsewhere, with minor roles on shows such as CSI: Miami and Cold Case. He even has plans on to star in the Starz show Power, where he will play the role of Carmine. LaVorgna has also talked about his return to Catholicism since departing from the faith when he was a child. “Once I matured enough to face God, to look at Him…my life turned around,” he said.
Chaz Lamar Shepherd – John Hamilton
Some might forget that Chaz Lamar Shepherd actually had a recurring role on 7th Heaven at the very start of the show’s run. He played John Hamilton, the oldest of the Hamilton kids. This was before he was upgraded to a main role in Season Four. However, this would be short-lived, and Shepherd left the show two seasons later. However, his character John had a relatively happy ending, marrying a woman by the name of Priscilla Carter.
Chaz Lamar Shepherd – Now
Since his role on 7th Heaven came to an end in the fifth season, Chaz Shepherd has managed to appear on a handful of other shows such as The Parkers and The Game. His most recent role came in 2016 when he played Keith in the Netflix show Haters Back Off!, which is based on the YouTube show Miranda Sings. Chaz has also tried his luck in the music industry, releasing his own album in 2010 called Love & Truth.
Mackenize Rosman – Ruthie Camden
Her first professional acting role, Mackenzie Rosman can thank the producers at The WB for giving her a role that would ultimately make her famous. She portrayed the youngest daughter of the Camdens – Ruthie. Despite the show’s run, this character aged very quickly. Having started pre-Kindergarten in season one, Ruthie eventually graduated from high school when the show was coming to an end. Another mainstay throughout the show’s run, Rosman also starred alongside Christopher Lambert in 1998’s Gideon.
Mackenzie Rosman – Now
A few years after 7th Heaven stopped airing, Mackenzie Rosman ended up on the cover of Maxim. It was poetic purely because her on-screen sister Jessica Biel also did the same thing, only with Gear in 2000. However, there is so much to Rosman than just photo shoots. She also works on many charitable efforts, such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. As far as acting is concerned, she has made appearances in horror movies such as Fading of the Cries and Beneath.
Beverley Mitchell – Lucy Camden
The third of the Camden children, Lucy was always good at getting boyfriends but was unable to hold down a serious relationship for a large part of the shows run. Portrayed by Beverley Mitchell, Lucy ends up marrying Kevin Kinkirk in season seven and in season nine, the couple have a daughter together by the name of Savannah. For a while, it is Kevin who is a stay-at-home dad while Lucy works as an associate pastor.
Beverley Mitchell – Now
Shortly after 7th Heaven came to an end, Mitchell ended up getting married in Italy of all places. The 2008 wedding saw co-stars Mackenzie Rosman and Jessica Biel as Beverley’s bridesmaids. It was a few years before the couple had their first child. However, it wouldn’t take long before they welcomed their second. This didn’t mean that Mitchell’s acting career had come to an end. She starred alongside Full House’s Jodie Sweetin in Hollywood Darlings and also had a part in the sequel to Saw.
David Gallagher – Simon Camden
Long before his role as Simon Camden, David Gallagher portrayed little Mikey in 1993’s Look Who’s Talking Now, starring John Travolta. He once again worked with the superstar actor in the fantasy drama Phenomenon. Shortly after, Gallagher was cast in 7th Heaven as Simon Camden, or as his siblings liked to refer to him as, “The Bank of Simon.” This is because she always seemed to have money on him, and considered himself something of a young entrepreneur.
David Gallagher – Now
Despite also having a fruitful acting career, David Gallagher’s most prominent work since 7th Heaven has come in the form of video games, working as a voice actor. He has portrayed the role of Riku in the hit game series Kingdom Hearts. As far as live acting is concerned, Gallagher has starred in movies such as J.J. Abrams’ Sci-Fi flick Super 8 and has made appearances on TV shows like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Bones, and Without a Trace.
